Realistic Gel paint
The basic idea - painting in wet paint - was given by oil painting. At that time, I started to paint with oil, on canvas and realized that my gels are very similar in texture, just like oil paints. That was the time, when I had to try the method with my gel paints too, in small - on tip. I fell in love immediately with this technique and painted 16 nice tips in 3 hours (I don’t mention the tips I threw in trash).
It was extremely fast and spectacular, and I thanked God, that I could come to the market again with something new.
So, the new technique, wet on wet, is not new (we paint in wet gels, without curing in lamp), but what is more important: when, with what color, with what movement we paint, how many times, with how much material. The patterns are so very characteristic, that in hundreds of paintings we recognize, where the designs are coming from. I have been teaching countless instructors, everyone paints these flowers, even those who had never learned from me, some people copy more, some with less success.
I can say for sure, it has become a very popular technique, I have taught hundreds of students in the recent years, I think that number has exceeded a thousand. In addition, by those who were teaching these flowers to others, I think, thousands of students have been already reached with this wonderful technique worldwide. I, myself taught 50 trainers in Mexico, and had students and instructors in the Dominican Republic, and also in India, Vietnam, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, USA, Reunion Island, and Mauritius. I have had many students and trainers also in Europe, which makes me very happy, because that’s how I was able to reach and inspire thousands of people.
Maybe it’s unbelievable, but these flowers are fast enough for salon work, as the simpler ones can be painted in 2 minutes, the more complicated ones can be painted in maximum of 5-6 minutes. Anyone who has been on my courses may know that I do not let anyone go without knowledge. As a result, they can immediately paint the flowers they had learnt in the course, in their salon work.
The technique isn’t really for beginners, so keep in mind that anyone who haven’t painted with gel may need more time (several days) to learn the technique.
Online I do not recommend learning it, only for advanced painters, sometimes even for them it's a difficult technique. I’ve always preferred personal training because I see what you’re doing, I'm there for those who needs help, guidance. That’s why I like to introduce the technique in a 2-day education, and on the second day, you can learn the Creamy Flowers, which is a similar technique but with a white background. This is how I can ensure that the knowledge is fully mastered. However, unfortunately things had changed in 2020. The Realistic Gel Paint book was made in April 2020, and that date coincides with the COVID-19 virus and people being locked up in their homes. As a result, personal education has become impossible for a long time, leaving us with virtual education. That’s why it’s good to have this book done. In addition to the videos-online trainings, you can get quite a good support, and if you still need help after that, but we can definitely meet in person nowadays.

A few words about brushes.
I developed my Folk Art 2 brush specifically for the wet on wet technique and the folk art technique. The tiny, rounded-shape brush is just large enough to paint precise, clean and even contoured petals painted with it. I use Gel Liner for fine lines and my big favorite, Gel Square Soft brush for applying the basic layer.
Gel Liner
Synthetic hair brush for superfine gel
lines and motives
Folk Art brush
Synthetic hair brush, with rounded tip
for Folk Art and Zhostovo painting.
Also usable for gel paintings, in this
case two brushes needed.
Gel Square Soft
A nice soft, short synthetic hair, gel brush, for applying color gels. Easy to handle, with a black cap, to save the hair from UV light. Also usable for gel sculpting, for short nails. 7 mm long 6mm wide.
Before use, you must prepare the hair with clear builder gel, to be enough flexible and sharp. The gel will fix the hair together in thin line, for being able to work precise at the cuticle area.
I have to say, this course will change your life forever! You will be able to amaze your clients with wonderful flowers rapidly, they will simply dont believe what kind of ART is happening in front of their eyes!
